The Future Of Work In Web3 And It's Potential For Creating New Opportunities

Opportunities and Possibilities for the Future of Work

Dear Web3 Entrepreneurs,

Are you ready for the future of work? The world is changing, and Web3 technology is leading the way. As entrepreneurs in this space, you have the potential to create new opportunities for yourselves and others.

If you live in the United States or Europe and have issues working the traditional way, wait till you hear the story of an average person working and living in any African city.

A few years ago, I worked as the safety manager of a steel company, owned and run by the Chinese government in Nigeria.

It is my honor to give you a chunk of what a traditional work system looks like in the context of a Nigerian worker.

Commuting

The traditional working style can require long distances to work and work in a city like Lagos, Nigeria workers go through hell.

It does not matter if you own a car or not as the road and traffic systems are close to nonexistence.

With terribly run public transportation systems at every level; road, rail and water, Lagos is leading the continent with the most difficult cities to navigate. Total nightmare!

When these workers finally get their sorry selves in the office, they are drained of every positive energy therefore, reducing productivity and moral.

Work-Life Balance

I’m going to be personal about this one. What does work-life balance even mean?

I have absolute zero problem working long hours. The only problem I have is a bad deal i.e a poorly negotiated contract.

As long a the money is worth my time, am ready to go. To hell with the “work-life balance” mantra. I make my choices. I either stay and work my ass off or give the company a sweet big middle finger. The choice is mine.

Health Risk

This in my opinion is one of the strongest arguments against traditional work system. Exposure to air pollution, lack of natural light for those working in confined spaces poses a huge healthcare problem.

Limited Accessibility

In most African countries, the traditional working style are DEFINITELY not accessible for people with disabilities or impairments.

The lack of accommodations, such as wheelchair ramps, accessible bathrooms, or assistive technologies which do not exist in these countries. You can’t imagine with life is for an impaired person living in any of these countries.

The list of challenges facing traditional work system goes on but it’s time to face its glorious future with web3. LET’S GO!

Transparency is another great benefit of Web3 technology. With blockchain, information is stored on a decentralized ledger that is accessible to anyone, creating a high level of transparency and accountability. This can help prevent fraud and ensure that all contributors are compensated fairly and in a timely manner.

Web3 technology also has the potential to create new work opportunities. With decentralized organizations, individuals can contribute their skills to a project or initiative without the need for a traditional employment contract.

This opens up opportunities for freelancers, gig workers, and others who may not have access to traditional employment
